Speed, Agility, Explosive Power SAEP II
7th - 8th Grade Boys & Girls

This class focuses on developing functional strength through multiple planes of motion. The emphasis here is to transition from body weight strength movements into resistance training. The skills developed in this class will help support and aid in the prevention of injuries or lessen their severity. Teaching proper running mechanics, athlete will be able to move more efficiently as they run down the court and/or change directions. With the addition of resistance training athletes will start to see greater increases in their speed and strength that will elevate their skills on the court. Athletes will also focus on explosive training which will help increase their vertical.

How it Works

Training sessions are sold in 8-session packages and with the expectation of seeing athletes twice a week. S.A.E.P. 1 is offered every day Monday-Friday and players need to reserve their spots in 4-week blocks.  We do allow 1 rescheduled session at no charge with the 8-session package. Registration is NOT done online; ALL players must contact Coach Childress at AChildress@m14hoops.com to reserve their 4-week schedule and to register. All classes are 60 minutes.

Objective

At the end of this class players will have a solid foundation in strength.  Resistance training will have begun and this will translate on to the court by allowing players to drive and finish through contact. The strength component will also help with each players jump shot range.  All players will also have had a season full of speed and agility, which will help them on the defensive end of the court with foot speed. S.A.E.P. 2 also will continue to help athletes with jumping and landing to help increase their vertical and decrease injury.

Spring  and Fall S.A.E.P. 1 is a 12 week class. Winter is 16 weeks.

Your player DOES NOT have to be in the M14 Basketball Academy to participate in M14 Strength Programs
